What’s this site about, anyway?

Schatzi attacking me

So, what is this site about, anyway?

That’s a really good question. Let’s start with the basics. Above you see myself, Jason Rohwedder, and one of my dogs, Schatzi. Over the past few years, I’ve had occasion to help out friends and family with some of their own projects. This occurs in my copious amounts of free time. And, on occasion, I’ve actually gotten paid in something other than food. That’s where Schatzi comes in. She’s awesome. Mean, sneaky, funny, awesome. She’s the inspiration for the company I started to help me deal with the logistics of being paid :: Badgerhound Industries, LLC.

What does Badgerhound Industries, LLC do?

Another good question. Honestly, I don’t really know what I’ve got planned other than using it as a vessel to explore topics that personally interest me.

Will you do work for me?

Maybe. I haven’t taken any new projects on in quite a while, but if you think you have something I’d be interested in shoot me an email at jro@badgerhound.com.

Seriously. What is this site going to be about?

Right now, I’m planning to blog about what’s been on my mind lately. Technology, technology overload, entrepreneurship, dachshunds, umm.. dachshunds. I’ve had a personal blog over at http://jro.codegrinder.com for some time, but I’m going to try to put most of my tech chatter over here. If you’re interested, you’re welcome to follow that blog as well, but it will be decidedly less tech-heavy and more about me and my life in general.

If nothing else, I’ll commit to at least putting up a photo of Schatzi once a week on Thursdays. I might have to let one of our other animals may stand-in every now and again, just to keep them from getting too jealous.

And, no, the logo was not based on a picture of Schatzi, but I would love to change that someday. If any of you reading this are designer-folk and would like to give it a shot in exchange for some help setting up on the system side, I’d gladly work something out. (*nix only please, I don’t do Windows work for fun. Or for free. Ever. Unless you’re my Mom. Mom, please get a Mac).
